Oasis adalah band Rock Inggris yang terbentuk di Manchester pada tahun 1991. Oasis digawangi oleh Liam Gallagher ( vocal ), Paul Arthurs ( Gitar ), Paul Mcguigan ( bass), dan Tony Maccaroll (drum) lalu diikuti oleh saudara liam, Noel Gallagher ( gitar, vocal ). Oasis sudah menjual lebih dari 50 juta copy ke dunia, 8 single mereka menduduki urutan pertama di UK, dan sudah mengumpulkan 15 penghargaan NME, 5 Brit Awards, dan 9 Q Awards. Gallagher bersaudara ( Liam & Noel ) sebagai pencipta lagu merupakan satu-satunya personil tetap sampai sekarang. Posisi gitar saat ini diisi oleh Gem Archer dan Andy Bell juga drummer additional Chris Sharrock.
Penampilan pertama Oasis dimulai dari Manchester Club Circuit. Mereka memulai karir dari Independent Label Creation Records dan merilis album debut pertama mereka” Definitely Maybe” pada tahun 1994. Tahun berikutnya mereka mengeluarkan album “(What's the Story) Morning Glory?” (1995) bersama drummer baru mereka Alan White sementara rival Britpop mereka Blur juga menduduki chart yang sama. Gallagher bersaudara sering masuk dalam tabloid dan Koran dikarenakan sering bertengkar dan gaya hidup mereka yang liar. Dengan Reputasi mereka berdua sebagai “Anak Nakal”, dan makin meningkatnya ketenaran mereka maka mereka menerbitkan album ketiga mereka “Be Here Now” (1997). Album ini m
enjadi album dengan penjualan tercepat di sepanjang sejarah chart Inggris. Oasis tidak mendapat respon begitu baik di publik Amerika dan kehilangan 3 orang personil lama mereka pada saat merelease album “Standing on The Shoulder of Giants” (2000) dan “Heathen Chemistry” (2002)Album ke-enam mereka bertajuk “Don’t Believe The Truth” (2005) menjadi album dengan dengan angka penjualan terbaik dan album dengan penerimaan terbaik dalam satu dekade ini. Tahun berikutnya Oasis mengeluarkan album kompilasi tang ber title “Stop The Clocks”. Pada bulan februari 2007 Oasis menerima “BRIT AWARD” untuk kontribusi mereka terhadap dunia musik. “Dig Out Your Soul” adalah album studio yang ketujuh dan akan dirilis pada bulan oktober 2008, dengan single andalan mereka dalam album tersebut “The Shock Of The Lightning” Manchester, England
